Parliamentary Culture: We have witnessed stability and development in the performance of the Iraqi Media Network
The Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Media confirmed on Tuesday that there is stability and success within the Iraqi Media Network.
The head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the visit of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Media to the Iraqi Media Network aims to review the network's work and its progress, and to understand the requirements for the amendments to the network's law."
Hammadi added that "the committee listened to a detailed explanation of the network's work and the future plans it seeks to achieve."
For her part, the committee's deputy head, MP Samiaa Al-Ghalab, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Parliamentary Committee on Culture has always emphasized the independence of the Iraqi Media Network's work. It met with the head of the Iraqi Media Network and noted the calm and qualitative stability within the network at this stage, which indicates the development taking place within the network and the harmony among all employees and the wise leadership of the Board of Trustees and the head of the network."
She continued, "Many topics were discussed, most notably the Iraqi Media Network law, drama, and other matters." For his part, committee member MP Arif Al-Hamami told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We have observed success and stability within the media network, and our role is to support and enhance this stability. We listened to the network's discussions and proposals regarding the Iraqi Media Network Law." For her part, committee member MP Nahla Al-Afandi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The coordination mechanism between the committee and the media network was discussed, especially regarding pending matters and laws introduced by the House of Representatives that are relevant to the network's work, including the Access to Information Law." She noted that "an agreement was reached to hold an expanded symposium to discuss developments in this law."
